The Best Treatment For A Caffeine Headache

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

Breaking a mental or physical addiction to any of the hundreds of types of drug or alcohol addictions can be a terrifying and absolutely devastating process. Many people feel that pulling themselves away from a drug addiction is a hopeless prospect as the drug has such a hold on their mind and body that they simply cannot live without it. Slowly ripping yourself away from the grasp of a drug which seems as harmless as caffeine can even be more difficult, as you may not give it your all, thinking that caffeine could not possibly hurt you. To many people, caffeine certainly does not feel like it would contribute to any problems. After all, how could they sell a product in supermarkets that could make you sick in the long run? Unfortunately, for many people trying to get off of caffeine if they have been drinking coffee every day since they were young, very real problems begin to manifest themselves. A variety of conditions can be directly linked to caffeine addiction – including the highly discomforting caffeine headache that so many must suffer through even if they simply miss one morning’s worth of coffee.

Without a doubt, the absolute best way to prevent a caffeine headache from occurring in the first place is to not allow yourself to become addicted to products containing the caffeine chemical in the first place. This, of course, is impossible for just about all of us. With all of the places in our country selling coffee products (which taste so incredibly good) and the fact that we all must wake up early to get to work or school on time, drinking coffee has become a major part of our society. We wake up every morning with the desire to have something which will give us that needed pick-me-up so we can get on with the day. Unbeknownst to most, the beverage that we turn to can contribute greatly to side effects such as the caffeine headache and other problems.

Despite its problems, the caffeine headache is a type of headache that is rather easily remedied. Compared to migraine headaches which can be practically untreatable at their worst, a caffeine headache is easily treated with whatever pain medication you prefer to take.
